The Bronze Report goes onstage and backstage.  First Barbara Rodgers takes us to see the production of Pearl Cleage's play on the Harlem Renaissance at a theatre undergoing its own renaissance.  Then, Jan Mabry chats with 4-time Grammy award winning jazz vocalist, Dianne Reeves.

 

Blues for an Alabama Sky at the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre

The Bronze Report host Barbara Rodgers visits the Lorraine Hansberry Theater (LHT) in San Francisco during the performance of Pearl Cleage’s play, Blues For An Alabama Sky.  In addition to chatting one-on-one with actor Robert Gosset (The Closer) and other cast members, she talks to LHT’s new Artistic Director, Steven Anthony Jones about the LHT, and the state of African-American theater.

Cal Performances presents: Dianne Reeves

The Bronze Report’s Jan Mabry goes backstage for a chat with jazz songstress Dianne Reeves.  A four-time Grammy award winning artist, Ms. Reeves talks about her life, her music, and some of the jazz greats she has known.

    This is so good; especially the Diana Reeves interview and the Lorraine Hansberry piece. Compared to many shows I watch and have watched - it is good or superior, it is so interesting, so well done. I do not know the business but what the hell do sponsors want.
